Goooood morning friends! Happy Monday!
I know. No one is excited for Monday. I think it can be universally agreed that Monday is one of the most hated days of the week. (Sorry, Monday- you just are.) I know that this particular Monday is a holiday Monday for some people, so that hatred diminishes somewhat.
This is not necessarily a holiday Monday for me, but y’all, I am STOKED for this Monday. In fact, I wasn’t even going to write a blog post today, and then I was thinking about why I’m so excited about today and I thought, “eh, why not write a post about it?!” So what is causing all the excitement on this particular Monday? Glad you asked!
Wimbledon
It is opening day of Wimbledon today!! Tennis is hands down my favorite sport, so I am so, so excited about this. In fact, as I’m typing this, (decaf) coffee in hand, toddler eating apples for breakfast, infant sleeping, Wimbledon is on. And it makes me feel like nothing can go wrong with this day. (Oliver will get ridiculous amounts of screen time the next 2 weeks with this tournament. #sorrynotsorry)
July 4th
This one is kind of a no-brainer, but it’s a short work week for Dan which means a short work week for mama! I’m so excited to have him home with us for an extra day and to spend that day grilling out and hanging out with friends. #merica
Vacation Week
The long awaited week of the year! VACATION WEEK! We leave on Saturday for a few days at Wilmington Beach with my parents, grandparents, and brother and sister-in-law (and my little niece in her belly!), and y’all, I’m so excited! We have a lot to do to get ready to go, but I’m so excited for Oliver’s first serious beach trip- I think it’s going to terrify him! 🙂
Oliver’s Birthday Week
Today commences Oliver’s birthday week. He turns 2 on Sunday, guys!! I’m still in denial because I feel like I just had him, but I can’t wait to celebrate him turning another year older! I’m so excited that we get to celebrate with my family, too- they live 8 hours away so we aren’t used to having them close for big celebrations. It’s going to be so special for him!

Birthday Boy!
5k Day
I’m running my first post-baby 5k tonight! I’m excited to push myself a little bit, but mostly I’m excited because a) I saw the medals online last night and they look. awesome. b) there’s a pool party afterwards, and c) they’re having pizza and burgers afterward. Um, yes, please. Seriously, check it out. It’s going to be amazing.
It’s going to be a big week, but as you can see, there are plenty of reasons for me to be excited about Monday! I like this feeling, though, of listing what I’m looking forward to this week, so I’m thinking about making this my first series! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it, though, since you’ll be the ones reading- so let me know in the comments!
What are you looking forward to this week??
Have a phenomenal day!

July 3, 2017 at 6:26 pmThis is an amazing week for you! There is nothing like a holiday week and vacation! Good luck on your 5K, that is amazing! I wish my week sounded as exciting as yours, by I am also looking forward to the Fourth. I am on summer break as a teacher and my hubby will have the day off, so we will be engaging in tried and true American traditions…barbecue, hanging at the pool, and watching some fireworks. Have a wonderful rest of your work!

And as a SAHM and homeschool mom, I’m sometimes excited for Monday because it means that we get back into our comfortable routine and we get to enjoy learning together. Sometimes Monday is not all bad! 🙂
